What if Spiderman has to fight with himself? How is the end of the Spiderman saga? After Spiderman in 2002 and the sequel, Spiderman 2, in 2004, Sam Raimi came out to give us the answers to these questions by directing and writing Spiderman 3.

Peter Parker feels as if he has reached a life settlement point. Therefore, he is planning to propose Mary Jane. Unfortunately, his superhero and photographer bustles are overwhelming almost 24/7. At The Daily Bugle, a newspaper where Peter works as a photographer, he has to stand for a competition with a cocky and ambitious new photographer, Eddie Brock. All his bustles are completed with the animosity of Harry Osborn towards Spiderman for killing his father. Moreover, he also struggles on the finding of his grandfather’s murderer, Flint Marko, who has been altered to a gigantic sand monster, Sandman.

Mary Jane is starting to feel uncomfortable with it. Her debut stage career failure takes her to the lowest point of her life. She needs someone who can be there for her anytime she needs, but Peter is never there. In the middle of those chaotic circumstances, an alien brought from a meteorite from outer space is coming towards Peter in the middle of his obscurity in life.

That alien turns Spiderman into a black suited creature in the same shape as the usual Spiderman. It gives an enormous impact for Peter and Spiderman’s personality to lose their humanity senses. In the end, Spiderman has to terminate the battle with his greatest enemy, himself.

As a Hollywood film, Spiderman 3 doesn’t provide something new. Instead, it is designed almost the same as other Hollywood movies with majestic special effects, slapstick, typical drama romanticism and overexposed American patriotism. The eminence lies only in the title, Spiderman. However, as a final sequel saga, Spiderman 3 satisfies all Spidey-maniacs’ curiosity.

The effects are breathtaking, the slapsticks are amusing and the moral message that lies in the patriotism is indeed flawless. The idea of appearing Black Spiderman is brilliant too. Nevertheless, the proposing plan, as the drama focus of the film, doesn’t come to an end. Also, the singing Mary Jane is spoiling the end of the drama.

Disappointment and gratification came at the same time to me when I watched this movie. All in all, this movie is over-rated and over-promoted to my overall valuation.

To be kept up with trends and to fulfill the tendency of concluding the Spiderman saga, I suggest you to watch this film. Otherwise, I suggest you not to.
